Daoist Arts was founded on a simple conviction: the wisdom of Chinese metaphysics belongs to everyone who seeks it. For over 1,700 years, systems like BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny), Feng Shui, and the I Ching have guided emperors, scholars, and ordinary people through life's most important decisions, and the classical texts that preserve this knowledge are still with us, waiting to be read.
Today, this knowledge is more relevant than ever. In a world of overwhelming choice and uncertainty, these ancient systems offer something rare: a framework for understanding yourself and your place in the cosmos. Not superstition: a sophisticated model of time, energy, and human nature that has been refined across millennia.

Daoist Arts is an editorial team led by Wenshu Lin (文枢), whose work centers on close reading of the classical canon, from the Di Tian Sui and Qiong Tong Bao Jian to Guo Pu's Zang Shu and the I Ching itself. Rather than repeating what other websites claim, we go back to primary sources, compare interpretations across schools, and test every claim against our own free tools.

Every reading is grounded in the source texts: the Zang Shu, I Ching, Qing Nang Jing, and more. No made-up systems, no shortcuts.
Ancient wisdom, but practical advice. We translate metaphysical principles into actionable guidance for career, relationships, home, and health.
Our free BaZi calculator, almanac engine, and name generator are built directly from the calendar systems we write about, so every claim is testable.
Textual authenticity. Many English-language Chinese metaphysics resources are simplified, commercialized, or outright invented. We cite our sources, from Guo Pu's Zang Shu to the canonical Xie Ji Bian Fang Shu, so you know exactly where the knowledge comes from. Where a claim cannot be traced to a classical text, we say so explicitly.
Technology + Tradition. Our free BaZi calculator and Feng Shui tools use precise algorithms based on the traditional calendar system. Tools are the starting point; the deeper value is in understanding why the system works the way it does, which is what our articles and readings explore.

The calculator shows your Four Pillars and your Five Elements balance. It shows which patterns the system points to. What it cannot do is explain what those patterns mean for your life, or weigh one school's reading against another.
A paid reading adds that human layer. Wenshu Lin reads your chart inside its school of thought and writes the patterns in plain language. You receive the context a machine cannot provide, and direct answers to the questions you bring.
Readings also cover Feng Shui and date selection when needed. The same trained eye looks at layout, timing, and destiny together. That joined view is hard to reach with separate free tools.

Beyond the checklist above, we keep four promises to every reader. They guide how we write and what we refuse to write.
Sources are checkable. When we make a claim, we name the text behind it. If a point comes from later commentary rather than a primary source, we mark it as such.
Uncertainty is admitted. Classical schools disagree on many points, and we will tell you when a matter is open rather than present one view as settled fact. Honest doubt beats false confidence.
Results are not overstated. These systems offer perspective on character and timing. They do not cure illness, secure wealth, or predict events with certainty, and we avoid words that imply they do.
Fear is not used. We will not call a date cursed or a person doomed by their chart. The choice in every matter remains yours, and we write to inform, not to alarm.
We also correct the record. If a published piece is shown to misread a source, we update it and note the change. A research site earns trust by fixing errors in the open.
